OXYGEN SENSOR REPLACEMENT SERVICE
The oxygen sensor gathers information about the ratio of air to fuel coming from the engine and feeds this information to the engine's computer. It uses this information to adjust the amount of fuel injected into the engine. When the oxygen sensor fails, it can cause your engine to burn more fuel than necessary, giving you poor fuel economy, driveability issues and increased emissions.
Neither Land Rover nor Jaguar specifies replacement intervals for these sensors at this point in time, but cars from the mid 80s to mid 90s have sensors that usually last around 60k miles and sensors on cars from the mid-90s and newer can last as long as 100k miles. You can replace these sensors preventitively to avoid the driveability issues and loss of mpg or you can replace them when the check engine light comes on with diagnostic trouble codes signalling that there is an issue.
Our normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00pm. You can contact us during these hours to schedule an appointment for service of your Land Rover or Jaguar at (310) 725-0075. |
