FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT SERVICE

Keeping a clean fuel filter on your car helps to prevent water, dirt particles and other contaminants from getting into the fuel injection system, thereby protecting your fuel injectors. A completely clogged fuel filter will stop your engine by cutting off the flow of fuel to the injectors. A filter that is partially clogged may perform fine at low speeds, but stall out at high speeds or under heavy loads.

Jaguar generally recommends fuel filters every 60k miles, while on late model Land Rovers, recommendations vary from none to 150k miles. Most technicians agree that the extended replacement intervals on these late model cars are insufficient. This is particularly true in Los Angeles, where stop and go driving puts an extra strain on your fuel filter, causing it to become clogged or contaminated more quickly than under "normal" conditions.
